1. The Pirates' stadium was named Best Ballpark in America by TripAdvisor, the world's most trusted travel advice site. As if we already didn't know how beautiful the park is, TripAdvisor says, "perched along the Allegheny River, this renowned ballpark features spectacular sights of the Steel City skyline and the beautiful Clemente Bridge. A unique two-level ballpark that opened in 2001, PNC provides an intimate setting and spectacular views and sightlines from anywhere in the stadium."

2. Statement necklaces are my new obsession. I need to seriously stop myself from buying every single one in a variety of colors. Forever XXI in my opinion has the best deals on them, as you may know they can get a bit pricey at some stores. The necklace shown above is only $7.80. Love it!

3. Starbucks is selling alcoholic beverages. Believe it. They began selling alcoholic beverages in Seattle in 2010 and are now expanding. AND GUESS WHAT? Pittsburgh is apparently one of the new locations set to serve alcohol. Coffee in the morning, cocktail at night, thanks Starbucks!

4. Now that Spring is officially here (although it's not very sunny or warm yet) I am loving bright and bold lip colors. My favorite lip stain in Revlon Colorburst. It lasts all day and they have the most beautiful colors.

5. Need a new phone case? I HIGHLY recommend checking our Wallflower Design Company. They sell some seriously amazing cases at about $20 a piece and they're all made by hand. Did I mention it's run by a bunch of teenagers AND they're from Pittsburgh!?My favorite case is the Abby shown above.

Top Five Movies Set in Pittsburgh

Today I was having a typical lazy Sunday, when I started to watch She's Out of My League on E!. I obviously loved it because the movie was set in Pittsburgh and it was hilarious. So I thought, what a great idea--to discuss my top five movies set in Pittsburgh. Enjoy!

The story of Alex, a steelworker by day and dancer at night., who is chasing her dreams of becoming a professional. Alex faces trials and tribulations due to her lack of experience and education, but hopes to study at the Pittsburgh Conservatory of Dance and Repertory.

Phil Connors, a news reporter for a local Pittsburgh news station, gets the assignment of covering Groundhog's Day...to his displeasure. After grudgingly reporting about Punxsutawney Phil, Phil Connors plans to head home to Pittsburgh. However, he gets stuck in Punxsutawney because of a blizzard. After spending the night in a local hotel, Phil realizes he's reliving Groundhog's Day again...and again.

Kirk, a dorky TSA worker for the Pittsburgh International Airport, meets Molly, a total babe who is WAY out of his league. Molly gives him a chance because she doesn't think she can get hurt, but then genuinely has feelings for him. The only problem is, he's not up to her parents standards and his family is pretty cray-cray.

Two brothers, who originally are from Pittsburgh and huge Pirates' fans, are traveling back to their hometown to witness Roberto Clemete's 3000th hit. It's a great story about family, loyalty and Roberto Clemente.

Charlie nervously begins his first year of high school and quickly makes friends with Sam and Patrick, two seniors. The story follows Charlies' struggles, friendships and relationships during his first year. Side-note, the views of Pittsburgh in this movie are to die for!
"When a little boy asserts himself, he's called a “leader.” Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded “bossy.” - banbossy.com

The Girl Scouts, along with partners such as Lifetime, Pantene and celebrities like Beyonce and Jennifer Gardner are coming together to #banbossy. This movement is to instill confidence in young girls and make them realize that being a female and a leader is perfectly normal in today's society.

However, only 19% of congress and 5% of Fortune 500 companies CEOs consist of females. Showing that although women are capable of leading, they are often sought out after their male counterparts.

I know that growing up I was called bossy at times--as are most girls I knew. Maybe it's because we wanted leadership positions, spoke up in class, refused to wear a dress, or told our siblings how to act. Maybe we just gave our true opinion.

I don't think it's right to bring someone down, especially when they are standing up for something they believe in. I know little girls take these words to heart, especially when it comes from role models, such as teachers and parents, so I think starting now to build confidence in little girls is a great way to build the future leaders of our world.

For Pittsburgh Girl's first edition of Man Candy Monday, I feel it is only appropriate to honor the extremely handsome, Sidney Patrick Crosby, Captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins. ...perfect for St. Patty's day, huh, little Sidney Pat ;)!

For obvious reasons, Sidney is Man Candy. He's a bad-ass on the ice, a total babe and he seems to be a genuinely nice guy.  Did I mention he's very good looking? Because he's VERY good looking. Tall, handsome, athletic--I'd say he's the perfect package.

Also, aside from his Stanley Cup hardware, he also possesses TWO gold medals. Even though they were for team Canada, we'll let that slide cause hey, what girl doesn't love gold?
Let's see his statistics, aye?

Where do I begin?

I love Pittsburgh. Everyone who knows me knows this about me. I've lived here all of my life. I grew up on the North Side until I was about thirteen-years-old and then my family moved just a little bit farther north to the suburbs.

After I went to college and saw all of my classmates talking about the different places they wanted to go, or the different cities they wanted to move to, I realized I will never leave Pittsburgh. I know to some twenty-something year olds that seems absolutely ridiculous. However, I couldn't and wouldn't. Pittsburgh is me. Pittsburgh is my family. Pittsburgh is my forever home. I love everything about it.

I'm diehard in all Pittsburgh things, especially the Steelers (still weeping over last year's season). I love a good Primanti's sandwich, South Side on the weekends with my friends, Market Square during the work week and Heinz ketchup on just about everything...except eggs, that grosses me out.

I love that I can drive to every family members' house, at any given time, because we all live within a five mile radius of each other. I love the community. I love the history. I love the art. I love the skyline. I love the character of this city. But mostly I love the genuine, friendly, hardworking people.

This is my little corner of the internet to talk about my life and this wonderful city.
